In the Spring of 2020 a much loved patient of ours died suddenly of a heart attack taking his family and our office by surprise. About 6 months earlier I had attended a class at The Kois Center in Seattle, WA that sparked my interest in the relationship between oral heath and total body health. There I learned that bacteria from our mouth can go through our body's system and cause infection in other parts of our body. I became determined to learn what we as dentists can do to help our patients identify health problems early. This lead me to the Wellness Dentistry network. The more I study under the Wellness Dentistry network the more I am convinced that we can help our patients attain better overall health. This "determination" to educate myself and my patients has now become my passion.
